Civil War Carved Bullet

This bullet was carved from a .58 caliber "3 ringer", the most widely used bullet during the civil war.  I snuck in a quick trip back to my uncles property in Virginia during the 4th of July week-end.  The ground was very dry, but surprisingly easy to dig in.  I recovered another dozen bullets and the unidentified epaulet(?).  Relic hunting is very addictive!
