Coin finds for 9-30-00 include a Barber dime 1914, 3 Indian head cents,
1879, 1890, and 1903. Nine wheats dated 1909, 1914, 1918, 1923, 1925,
1937, 1939, 1950-D, and 1958. New stuff includes 2 clad quarters,
6 clad dimes and 4 new pennies. Today only old churches were hunted.
The Barber dime was 3 1/2" deep. One Indian head penny was 3" deep
and the other two were 1" deep! Two of the Indian head pennies hit
on 55-65 VDI range. The 1879 hit on quarter but it was laying on
top of a hot rock giving a louder signal. After I retrieved the the
coin the detector indicated there was more...all I could find was the hot
rock.
